Brrrrr!!

I never imagined the day would come when I thought 50 degrees felt cold! WOW! It has been such nice weather ever since we got here! There have been a few chilly days and such, but yesterday was in the 50s and the wind was blowing and I was FREEZING!!! I can't even imagine single digit degrees and snow! Ack! I'm so NOT a snow girl! Yes, it's pretty, but I don't like being out in it!! I love that today is December 1....and it is going to be around 65 or warmer today! This weekend is mid 70s!! :)

Hello From San Antonio!!

Yes, the blog is working. No I have not blogged in a long time, and I'm sorry. I have promised a couple very special people that I will try my hardest to keep the blog up and running and full of updates, now that we have relocated to San Antonio Texas!

So here is my first Texas blog! We have been here ONE week! Our house is beginning to look like a home. Each day there are fewer and fewer boxes! Yay!! I thought I had done a really good job of sorting and getting rid of stuff before we moved, but with each box, I'm finding more to get rid of! It's truly amazing how much "stuff" we have!

Today is my first day home..."alone" with the two kids. I've either had my Mom or Nick here, and it's been great! Today it's just me! And so far so good. I haven't gotten a TON done, but I have done a few things here and there. Typically it will just be me and Braxtyn, however, Kastyn doesn't have school at all this week due to Thanksgiving! So next week will be our first "real" week! :)

I would love to update more but there isn't much more to update. The past week as been full of opening boxes, and lots of them! B is napping now, so I should take the time to do something fun with K or talk her into helping me unpack some more! I think it's an ice cream day! :)

Both of my kiddos fall into the 96% group for their height. I guess I"m going to have some tall kiddos! We have done the growth charts before to see what the prediction is for each of them. It says that Kastyn will be 6'2" and that Braxtyn will be around 6'6"! Oh goodness!! I guess only time will tell to see how tall they both really are!!

Kastyn turned the BIG 5 this weekend! She had a great day!! Luckily her Birthday was on a Saturday, so we spent the whole day celebrating!! Presents in the morning, Cinnamon rolls for breakfast, Pool Party with cupcakes, and Chuck-e-Cheese for dinner!! :)

Flash Back

I was looking thru some old pictures...so I thought I'd share a few!

A Lesson Learned the Hard Way...

Today, I took the kiddos to the pool...well after about 30 minutes, Braxtyn started getting really fussy, so we had to cut our trip short, and come home. I told Kastyn that maybe we could go swimming again with Daddy when he got home from work after dinner. She was so excited! I told her the only thing she had to do, was eat all her dinner!

Once Nick got home from work, we sat down to eat...Taco Bake and fresh Strawberries! Kastyn knew that she had to have a clean plate to go to the pool....well she piddled, and complained, and made excuse after excuse, and finally ended up sitting at the table by herself, since we were long done with dinner, and there wasn't much else we could say to her...but EAT! I cleaned up the kitchen while Nick played with Braxtyn...I asked if she was almost done eating...because I was going to go put B's swimsuit on. She said yes...so I went in to start getting him ready, when I came back, her plate was clean...but where had the food gone? I asked if she ate it all and she just kinda looked at me...something told me to go look in the trash. Sure enough, there it was...little pieces of taco bake in the trash.

So without over-reacting, I simply asked her to go to her room and find some pajamas for bed. MELT DOWN! She threw herself on the floor and was kicking and screaming and crying and going on and on and on. Wow! I finally got her to go to her room, where she continued to act like a crazed maniac!

I'm hoping that she has now learned that we will EAT, or we don't get to do the "fun" things!! It's rough being 4!!

Baby B is 4 Months Old!!

It's hard to believe that Braxtyn is already 4 months old!! He's growing way too fast!! We took him Wednesday for his 4month well-baby check-up. I made Nick go...since shots were involved...I'm just not brave enough to do it alone. We started the appointment with the lenth check and weigh-in...where Braxtyn decided he wanted to peepee alll over the place! oops! The nurse was sweet enough to grab a towel for me to wrap Braxtyn in to take him back to the room. He was 26.5 inches long, and weighed in at 15.5lbs!!



Once back into the room, Dr Koehler came in for the look-over. Braxtyn did great. He blew bubbles, laughed, drooled, and kept trying to roll over! He asked if we had concerns....I had a little list of questions that I took....but nothing of major concern. He's growing wonderfully, but the Dr did suggest we start with some Rice Cereal if we wanted to. I was really thinking that we'd wait until he was 6 months old, like we did with Kastyn...but he's a lot bigger than she was, and is already acting like he needs more to eat...currently he's on an every 2ish hour nursing schedule...but that could also be a growth spurt!



So....tonight, we introduced a little cereal at dinner time. I don't know if I'd say he loved it...but he didn't hate it either. He tried it, worked it around in his little mouth, laughed about it, and then let me know when he was done by spitting it all out! I will see how he does tonight and tomorrow with it, and then we'll go from there as far as continuing with more cereal on a daily basis, or if we will just wait now until he is 6 months old! We did snap some cute pictures of the first attempt with cereal though!

Happy Birthday Nick!! a day late...

Yesterday, July 12th, was Nick's 31st Birthday! He had to work until noon, but then he got to come home!! Yay! We had a nice quiet day...and ran a couple errands. I kept asking what he wanted me to fix him for dinner, and he finally decided on Chinese....so instead of cooking, I went and picked up his favorite dish! We had a yummy dinner, and then just hung out with the kiddos the rest of the night!!

My house is SO quiet right now! Nick and Kastyn went fishing/camping today, so it's just me and baby B...and well...he's snoozing! I will be shortly too, but I have had a nice time catching up on all the things online I like to look at and read!

Braxtyn and I had a fun filled evening! After he woke from his nap, we fed Jeb(the neighbor dog), went to Wally World to get all of Sister's supplies for Kindergarten(yes early, but I didn't want to have to drive ALL over town at the last minute locating stuff), swung by Chipotle so Mommy could get dinner, and then we came home and played! He was laughing at me, and blowing bubbles, and we were just having a heck of a time!

He finally decided it was time for bed, so we settled down and off he went to snooze land...so now it's just me, the dogs, the tv(watching what I want to watch), the computer, and a lot of quiet!! I think I'm going to call it a night too! :)

25 years ago...

My life was forever changed! Thanks to the birth of my sweet baby brother! I don't know that I would have always called him sweet, or said I loved him...but today, I can! He's the best brother anyone could ever ask for!

We've had a lot of ups and downs growing up, but that's what happens when you born 5 years apart! I think it was when I went off to college, that our relationship finally became a good one! I missed him so much when I was gone, and we became closer than ever! I honestly can say, he's my bestfriend now! I'd do anything in the world for him, and I know he'd do the same for me!

So today....July 7, 2010...I'd like to take the time to wish Montgomery, Monte, Tatas, Brother.....a Happy Happy Happy 25th Birthday!! I Love You!!

Happy 3rd/4th of July

Since we have lived on Brookview...we've pretty much made it a staple in our July to have our 4th of July Party...here...in the neighborhood with all our neighbors!! And it's perfect! We are close to home, with people we love, the food is always amazing, and we can throw together a great party any day of the week!! This year was no different!! It was a bit rainy off and on...but it didn't stop us from having a great time!! Not only did we celebrate on the 4th of July, we also celebrated on the 3rd of July this year too! We had a BIG fat weekend of Celebrations!!

Happy 30th Birthday to ME!

July 2...was my 30th Birthday! Kastyn was SO excited to get up and come in and tell me Happy Birthday Mommy! I think she was more excited than I was!! She's so sweet! I got to hang out at home all day with my two favorite kiddos!! We relaxed, watched toons, and then Kastyn and I tye dyed shirts while B was napping! My Mom and Dad came around 4...to babysit, so Nick and I could go to dinner! We decided to go to BoneFish Grill out East, and use the gift-cards I won on KFDI! It was actually very yummy! :) I ate waaay too much! We did a little shopping on the way home...and all I could think about was getting home to relax a little bit, and maybe eat some ice cream! Nick and I just chatted on the way home, and decided we'd just relax when we got home and enjoy a night inside since we had a busy weekend of 4th festivities ahead!!

Well....that's not exactly what happened!! We pulled into the driveway, and as I was walking up to the garage...Nick opened the door, and my garage was FULLLL of people there to throw me a Surprise 30th Birthday Party! I was SHOCKED, and a little embarrassed! ;) Nick had been planning it for weeks...and successfully pulled it off!! I love him! There were balloons, and streamers, and a HUGE yummy cake with ice cream, and even some presents...just for ME! I was completely spoiled!! It was wonderful!

So much thought and effort went into the planning and sneaky-ness...and it was absolutely wonderful!! :) Thanks to everyone who helped pull off the shocker!! It was awesome!!

Year 2 of Swimming Lessons

Last summer we found an amazing teacher to do swimming lessons. He offers classes at his house for 8 day sessions! Kastyn learned SO much, I couldn't wait to enroll her again this year! Classes are 45 minutes each, and parents are NOT allowed to stay...except for the last day! Again, I am amazed with how much she learned this year!! I was so excited to go the last day to watch to see what all she had learned, and she was eager to show us!! This year she had a different swim coach, and he was exceptional as well!! We will definately be going back next year too!!

Kastyn, Kastyn, Kastyn....where do I even start?? Somedays I feel like we are JUST TOO BUSY! Always chasing her around from either, school, gymnastics, swimming, tball, etc. So, I finally decided, it's summer, and summer is for FUN...so we cut out school! So I can now officially say...Kastyn is no longer a preschooler, and will soon be entering Kindergarten! WOW! As well as being done with school for the summer....swimming lessons are over too, so now we just get to have fun! With the occasional Gymnastics class or Tball game!

I love being able to spend the days with my girl....either doing a craft, or baking something together in the kitchen!! But I especially LOVE the days when she just doesn't want to do much but sit around and snuggle with me and watch her shows! Those days don't happen often, but when they do I welcome them!!

Here are a couple new pictures of my girl! We will have a busy next couple weeks getting ready for her 5th Birthday Party! I sure hope we can come up with something super fun to do!! I am also going to try my hardest to get her 5 year pics taken between now and then...if I can get a nice enough day that is!

So my update on Braxtyn could go on and on and on....however, I'll try to keep it sweet and to the point. He is such a sweet sweet baby! And boy does he love his Mama! I am to the point now where I just know what he wants! I can tell if he's tired, or hungry, or just pissy, and it makes things so much easier for me...now for Daddy...well that's a whole different story! Brax likes to throw Daddy for a loop here and there when Mommy is working!

He is a busy body(just like his sister)! He would much prefer to be sitting upright or in the standing position, so he can see what is going on, and so he can make sure he doesn't miss a thing! B is also rolling alll the way over...from tummy to back, and back to tummy! I keep telling Nick it's only a matter of time before he figures out the crawling! His hands are ALWAYS in his mouth, which makes for a slobbery situation!! As far as sleep goes...he's still waking at least once a night, sometimes twice, but that's OK with me....for now anyway!

He will be 4 months old on the 9th....I just don't know where the time has gone! I'm constantly getting comments on how bright eyed my little guy is...so here he is...all bright and cheery!!

Updates...

So it's been quite awhile since I've updated(sorry Gamma and Dabbers), so I think my goal for July will be to keep this blog going...as much as possible! I mean July IS our busiest month of the year and all! So without more rambling on my part.....I'm off to update the blog now! :)

Milestone Week!

So Tuesday, Braxtyn rolled over for the first time, and he hasn't stopped since! Way to go!!

and...Last night...he SLEPT! 10 hours straight...all night long! I actually woke up around 5, and didn't know what was going on, I was trying to figure out when the last time was he had gotten up and when I had fed him, etc, only to realize...he'd just been sleeping! So of course I got up to check on him! He was snoozing away!! I know tonight now he'll probably be up 100 times, but I feel SOO refreshed today after getting a full-nights sleep! :)

This isn't last night....he was definately snoozing in his bed...but here is a cute picture of the boy snoozing with mommy!

12 Weeks Old

Braxtyn is 12 weeks old today! Where oh where have these weeks gone? I am loving each and every second of it! He's getting soo big! I've had to clean out clothes three times now that don't fit! He's going to be just like his sister..tall and skinny! He is already in some 6-9month clothing for length! It's way too big around, but the length is almost perfect!! It seems like just yesterday I was finding out that I was finally pregnant!

I've been taking a "bear-picture" every 4 weeks...so I took his new one this morning! I also took a handful of other pictures, and am SO glad I had the camera out...because he started rolling. I tried to get it on video, or take a quick picture, but he's too fast! Hopefully I'll get one, or both soon!!

Long Time no Blog...

...and for those of you who keep up, I'm so sorry! It has actually been a month since I last blogged! I'm so bad!! So...lets play catch up!

Since April...Kastyn has finished Soccer and started TBall! She also finished the fall program at Honey Tree Academy, and has started the summer program! For summer she will just be attending Tues/Thurs mornings! I just wanted her to have a little something to do outside of the house...and not be bored! The Summer program @ HTA is very fun, with field-trips or classroom visitors weekly! She is also still doing her gymnastics on Wednesdays!!

Braxtyn is 11 weeks old now, and growing like a weed!! At his 2 month check up he was almost 12 pounds!! He's such a sweet baby! And so easy going!! Everyone always asks..."Is he sleeping thru the night?" Ummm, no, he's not, and that's fine with me, he IS a great sleeper though! Naps wonderfully throughout the day, and then at night he is usually in bed between 7 & 8 and then wakes between 1-3 to eat, and then sleeps until 7ish! If he's only getting up once, I'm not going to complain!!!
