Kansas State Fair 2008

Nick and I took Kastyn to the State Fair yesterday and we all had a blast! We left after Kastyn got done with school, so we could spend the rest of the day at the fair! We arrived in Hutch around 1:00 or so for a day of Fair Fun!

Our first stop was the Kuchunga and the Alligators show. We got there a few minutes before it started so there were no seats left...luckily Kastyn had one of the best seats in the house!

After watching the show for a while, we moved onto the buildings to see what was going on in them. Agri-land was our first stop! Kastyn was able to sit in a combine, look like a sunflower, and milk a cow...with the help of Dad!

We headed to the BIG YELLOW SLIDE! Since I knew once wouldn't be enough...I splured for the $5 package, which included 4 tickets! First Kastyn went up with Daddy and went down...

Then back up the Big Slide and down with Mommy!

After taking a quick snack break...we headed for the Midway for ALL the rides! Kastyn is all grown up this year, and rode all the rides alone...with the exception of the first one...that she rode with Daddy! We fudged on her height here and there so she could get on some of the "bigger" rides that she wanted to ride!

Kastyn's First Football Game!

GO TITANS!!!

Friday night Nick, Kastyn and I went to the Wichita South/Wichita West Football game! She had a blast! We were invited by B and Shell! All the way to the game she was asking about them, so thankfully when we arrived we quickly found B! Shell was on the field all night since she's the South Athletic Director! Kastyn got to watch a little football, a lot of cheerleading, and ate all the typical "game" food that she could! She was in Heaven!

Here's Kastyn and B standing by the fence watching the cheerleaders!

Adventures in Babysitting!

I was lucky enough to babysit for two different friends this week, and Kastyn has been in LOVE with the babies! She has been so helpful with everything...or should I say a little too helpful! Both babies were boys, but very different little boys!

Thursday we watched Baby Eli for a few hours...he's 2 months old and around 14.5 pounds! He's a big guy, so Kastyn would hold him for a minute and then be done! She kept saying he's too big to hold Mommy!

Sunday we watched Baby Ean all day. Ean will be 1 month old on the 9th of Septmeber...however, he was also a premie, so he still has two months before he should have been born. He was a teeny tiny guy, and Kastyn could have held him all day, because he was only 4.5 pounds and slept a lot!

I guess these two days gave me a preview into life when Kastyn is a big sister, and I think she will be a GREAT big sister when that day comes!
